ABSTRACT: This paper describes the concept of organization, management and maintenance of road infrastructure in the South Herzegovina region, with an emphasis on the road sections maintained by Ceste d.d. Mostar company. A detailed review of the road infrastructure management and road maintenance system in the pre-war and war period, the experiences of some developed countries regarding organization and management of road infrastructure, as well as the existing state of road infrastructure organization and management in the territory of South Herzegovina is given. Based on determined shortcomings in the existing road management and maintenance system, the conclusions and guidelines for the restructuring and optimization of road infrastructure organization, management and maintenance system in the observed region are presented.

SAŽETAK: U radu je opisan koncept organizacije upravljanja i održavanja cestovne infrastrukture na području Federacije BiH s naglaskom na dionice koje održava poduzeće Ceste d.d. Mostar. U sklopu provedenih istraživanja, dat je osvrt kako na organizaciju i upravljanje cestovnom infrastrukturom u predratnom i ratnom razdoblju, tako i na iskustva razvijenih zemalja glede organizacije i upravljanja cestovnom infrastrukturom, kao i postojeće stanje sustava upravljanja i održavanja cestovne infrastrukture na području Federacije BiH. U zaključku su dati prijedlozi i smjernice za poboljšanje organiziranosti sustava za upravljanje i održavanje cestovne infrastrukture u Federaciji BiH.
